With Trump's inauguration coming up in mere days, many New Yorkers want to reach out and voice their opinions. The march is this Saturday Jan. 21 — starting in front of the United Nations headquarters in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza at 11 a.m. More than 7,200 New Yorkers have committed to attending the event on Facebook, with 20,000 more saying they're interested. This is an incredible way to see the city of New York coming together, and I plan on being there to experience it. If you have any questions about info, heres an article that explains a lot of the details. It's going to be amazing, powerful, and hopefully a successful way to make Trump see that us women will not go down easy.

The dictionary says that feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. Overall, that seems about right. One of the biggest assumptions made about feminism is that the concept is based upon the foundation that women > than men. However, it's honestly not true. What we're fighting for is not only equality in physical things like pay in jobs, but also in the mindset of our society. We feel as though the power and strength, (not supremacy or domination,) in women is something to be excited about. Throughout history women have ben abused, and not given the rights we deserve. We've come so incredibly far, but the battle isn't over yet. But when I say battle, we're not fighting against men, we're fighting against the stereotypes that have been created by many people throughout hundreds of years. We don't fit into a box.
